Primary Care for Vermont
Hope Haven Integrative Health is a naturopathic clinic emphasizing a holistic and preventative model of patient-centered healthcare with comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. Naturopathic physicians help facilitate the bodies innate ability to restore and maintain optimal health by combining the wisdom of nature and the rigors of modern science.
In the State of Vermont, Dr. Sonia practices as a Primary Care Physician as a Whole Family Practitioner. In addition to wellness and preventative visits, the most common ailments treated are hormonal imbalances, menopause, fertility problems, supportive cancer care, digestive and gastrointestinal problems, allergies, chronic pain, chronic illnesses, autoimmune conditions, metabolic diseases, (obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes), respiratory conditions, heart disease, adrenal fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, long Covid, and Lyme disease.
Naturopathic doctors are trained to utilize prescription drugs, although the emphasis of naturopathic medicine is the use of natural healing agents, such as: nutritional and lifestyle counseling, botanical and herbal medicines, supplements, naturopathic manipulations, acupuncture, and bodywork.
Dr. Sonia Drouin’s special interests are integrative oncology, women’s health (including in-office gynecology and bio-identical hormones), autoimmune and chronic conditions, acupuncture, facial acupuncture, gastrointestinal health and medical marijuana for a small select group of cancer patients.
Dr. Sonia has additional training in integrative oncology. As part of her clinical rotations, Dr. Sonia and a small handful of colleagues, were selected to the Integrative Oncology Focus Shift at the Integrative Cancer Center (ICC) in Toronto, Canada, where she trained under Fellows of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO). These fellows are highly distinguished American Board-Certified Naturopathic Doctors with advanced training in oncology. The Oncology Focus shift uniquely qualifies Dr. Sonia with the experience to safely integrate evidence-based naturopathic plans alongside conventional oncology treatments. This paradigm of care focuses on supporting cancer patients during all phases of conventional treatment with increased quality of life and improved outcomes. The careful integration of both systems in medicine is fast becoming the future of oncology.
